Raed connects students with independent Quran teachers. Teachers set their own rates and hours; Raed handles booking, payment and verification. You must be 18 or older to hold an account — children learn on a parent's account.
1. Who we are and what Raed does
Raed is an online marketplace operated by the company operating Raed. It connects students with independent Quran teachers for one-to-one lessons delivered live in the app.
Teachers on Raed are independent — they are not our employees or agents. They set their own hourly rates and their own teaching hours. We provide the platform: discovery, scheduling, the lesson room, payment handling, and the verification process that decides who may teach here. The teaching itself is between you and your teacher.
2. Who may use Raed
You must be at least 18 years old to create and hold a Raed account.
Children are welcome to learn on Raed, but on a parent or guardian's account and under their supervision. If you book lessons for a child, you are the account holder: you agree to these terms on their behalf, you are responsible for their use of the service, and you are responsible for supervising their lessons.
You agree to give accurate information when you sign up and to keep it up to date. One person, one account.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under it.
We verify your email address before your account becomes usable. This is how we reach you about lessons, payments and account security.
4. Teachers and what 'Verified' means
Every teacher on Raed is reviewed before students can find them. To be listed, a teacher must submit government photo identification, a live selfie we match against it, and a recitation sample, and our review team must approve all three.
A teacher who additionally submits an ijazah we accept receives the Premium badge.
- Verified means: we checked their identity and listened to their recitation.
- Verified does not mean: we guarantee teaching quality, certify their scholarship, or endorse anything they say. Use your own judgement, and tell us if something is wrong.
- We may remove a teacher's verification at any time if we no longer consider them suitable for the platform.
5. Booking and attending lessons
You book inside the hours a teacher has opened. A booking is confirmed once payment has been taken.
Lessons happen live in the app. Raed does not record lesson video or audio. Short recitation clips are saved only when they are explicitly recorded during a lesson, and they are visible to you and your teacher.
Please attend on time. If a teacher does not appear for a lesson you paid for, you are entitled to a full refund or a make-up credit.
6. Prices, payment and our fee
Teachers set their own hourly rate. The price you see before you confirm is the price you pay — it includes our service fee, and nothing is added afterwards.
Raed keeps a 10% commission on each lesson; the teacher receives the rest. Payments are processed by our payment providers, Stripe and Polar. Your card details are handled by them and never reach Raed's servers.
Where lessons are billed as a recurring plan, you can manage or cancel that plan yourself through the billing portal in the app.
7. Cancellations and refunds
The policy below is applied by the platform automatically, the same way for everyone. It is deliberately not left to individual negotiation.
- Cancel 24 hours or more before a lesson starts: full refund.
- Cancel less than 24 hours before: 50% refund. The remainder compensates the teacher for the reserved time.
- Teacher cancels, or does not show up: full refund, or a make-up credit if you prefer.
- On a recurring plan, cancellations do not move money. They grant a make-up credit and the right to reschedule, on the same 24-hour timing.
8. How to behave here
Raed exists for Quran learning. Treat teachers and students with the respect that subject deserves.
- Do not harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
- Do not impersonate anyone, or submit identity documents that are not your own.
- Do not take lessons or payments off the platform to avoid our fee — teachers who do may be removed.
- Do not record, republish or redistribute a lesson without the other person's consent.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the service.
9. Content
You keep ownership of what you upload — your profile, your notes, your recitations. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the service (for example, showing your profile to a teacher you have booked).
The Quran text and the app itself remain as they are: the text is not ours to own, and the software, brand and design are ours.
10. Suspension and closing your account
You may stop using Raed at any time and ask us to delete your account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we believe is fraudulent, or where we are required to by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why. Money already owed to a teacher for lessons taught remains payable.
11. Things we cannot promise
We work to keep Raed available and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Live lessons depend on your internet connection and on third-party infrastructure we do not control.
We are not responsible for what an independent teacher says or does, beyond our obligations to run the verification and complaints processes described here. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and record which version you accepted. Continuing to use Raed after that means you accept the new version.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the operator's home jurisdiction, and disputes go to its courts.
